What is your best tip for organizing you home

I am a single mom and I'm going to collage in september but before I start collage I want to organize my home completely. So i was wondering what were some really good tips for organizing you home (they could be about any room)

take one room at a time. throw out the things that you never use. get shelves up to put things on in your closets.

closet shevling units always work wonders, i just re-did my closet and i have so much more room

the best tip though, start with one room and do it room by room, take everything out of that room that needs to be and put it back in an ordered fashion, then you have a place to put more stuff you find as you work your way through the house

take your time, don't expect it to happen overnight but once you get it there, keep it there, a 30 mins a day will keep everything nice and tidy
