What is your biggest challenge raising a child with PDD?

  1. People's attitude and reaction to someone who is "different".  Most people seem to see the disability and not the child.  They identify the child by their disability.  They are people first and whatever the disability is, it's only a piece of the whole.

    Another challenge is when you first find out your child has a disability.  It's rather like boarding a plane to Hawaii and landing in London.  Both are acceptable destinations, but you have to adjust your plans, not much surfing or volcano watching in London.

    not being comfortable around people that are 'different' without even knowing tehm and creating mass hysteria about something that would never possibly happen....
