How high will you let prices get before you decide on other forms of transportation? Is there and estimated number where you can say okay i need to find another way to get to work istead of driving? Where would you draw the line?

  1. Fuel in North America has been undervalued for years.  When gasoline was $1.65 in the USA, it was already $4.00 in parts of Europe.  That's back at least eight years.  We are just catching up and they are much more costly.  I would say a break point is at least $1 away.

Another brilliant poster asked the question "How does it feels?"  I can't stop laughing...

  2. For me, I have no problem about gas price

Gas (LPG) - it is not necessary for us we have plenty of alternatives in our place,  it's free.

Gas (Gasoline) - I have also alternative (BIKE for short distance HORSE for rough terrain , MOTORCYCLE for long distance and rough terrain ) , I used my car rarely, only rain days and special occasion. I don't care much about gas price.

  3. $5.00 will do it.

  4. For me there is no breaking point.

My daughter is too young to sit on the back of a scooter/motorcycle so I need to tote her around in a car.

In 5 more years I will probably buy a scooter,  but for right now, I'm a slave to the petrol industry.

  5. I am already  paying $ 13/gallon now

    here.

Will hang on for a while yet.

  6. Here in Woodbridge, VA .... you don't really have a choice.

    Bus is not that convenient.

I guess you just need to reduce travel. and HyperMile!

*Try to drive at the lowest possible RPM (like 1500) on the highest gear.*

  7. How does it feels.

  8. I can't draw the line yet.  I have 2 kids to drop off at the sitters and I work 20 miles away - not like I can bike to work.   I will pay whatever I have to.  If I had to give a figure, I would say $10 a gallon.

  9. 10 pound

  10. 5 dollars

  11. I have no breaking point.  Each time I need to replace a car, I will simply get something that's more fuel-efficient.  Even if it means I'll ultimately be driving something like a 3 cylinder Geo Metro with six gears.  At that point, I expect renewable fuel sources to become feasible.
