The people from the other side of the Globe call it the EAST but it isn't always what we want to call it. As Asians, we know that more than location, we are one great cultural setting and most of what we call civilizations spawned in this continet. As a matter of fact, the greatest religions in the world have riginated in Asia. It is diversed and possessed with a great deal of beauty- both manmade and natural.

  1. Unlike Australia or the Americas, the Asian continent, which includes Europe, is actually the original land mass before Pangea (300-400 Million years ago), from which all the other continents broke away from!

  2. Asia is a huge continent with tons of different culture and would be unfair, and impossible for that matter, to deduce to one word.

The question reminded me the classification of Huntington in the Clash of Civilizations and how he ignored all the other cultures and melted all of them in Confucian Sinic civilization. Maybe his purpose was totally different, but this deduction really did worry me.

My concept of Asia is similar to the one on Europe; is it possible to draw the line, or to put it in other words, how do we define Asia? is Russia included in Asia, how about Middle East? Is Mongolia and Japan or Vietnam should be considered belonging to same civilization?
