  1. 6th Earl of Snowdonia

  2. Asswiper of the royal horses.

  3. Gentleman, commoner.

  4. A title is whatever honorifc that was bestowed upon you by a monarch for services rendered to the crown. It can also be a hereditary title or a hereditary royal ranking.

Ranking deals with precedence or importance. The higher your ranking, the higher you are in importance.

In order of precedence the ranking system for the UK is as follows

    King/Queen Regnant

    Queen Consort/Prince Consort

The eldest prince or princess who is next in line to the throne(the male heir is heir apparent, the female heir presumptive) In the UK the prince is titled Prince of Wales, but the princess who inherits the throne has no special titles

    Prince/Princess

(each of these royal folk may also bear other titles:duke/marquess/earl/viscount/baron...

    Non royal aristocrats

    duke/duchess

    marquess/marchioness

    earl/countess

    viscount/viscountess

    baron/baroness

The dukes, the highest non-royal title, probably have held their hereditary titles the longest, have served the monarchy the longest and are therefore higher ranked in court than a mere baron.

  5. Supreme Emperor of the Universe. Bow before me o' common one!

  6. You level of esteem within a court, and it also indicates your birth, the level of power of your position, etc. Also, when a royal honors you, they are able to give you a title, or advance you level of title, which in turn increases your rank
