    as in a culture or nationality?

    i don't really know how to descibe it.


  2. our differences... but you know race is also like the track race.(contest) coz wherever we go no matter what our race is we are always racing... am i right? in our life what we do is keep on competing whatever our race is... may we be americans or africans.. heck with the race. we compete.

  5. Race is a cultural construct that has little to do with biological reality.  Even so, most of us seem to feel pretty comfortable characterizing people according to race - "He looks like he's half black" or "I think her mother's Asian".

    The funny thing to me is that, huge numbers of Americans claim some small sliver of Native American ancestry.  But many whites also don't believe that the 85% of Americans with mixed "racial heritage" could possibly mean that there were any black people in their family history.

    The classical idea of race was that there were large populations of humanity who never interacted, which is to say interbred, for thousands of years.  Take a look around you people, and you'll see there was never an impenetrable boundary between the Caucasians in Asia and the ... well, Asians in Asia.  Same with Africa - where did the civilized "Levant" end and the dark continent of Africa begin?

    Yes, we humans are a varied lot.  But the idea of "race" and all that goes along with it is mostly just a lot of bunk.

    And that's my two cents :)
