i have to write a speech about the definition of INSANITY. and what are some examples of insanity...Please and Thank you!

People with extreme cases of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) might be considered insane.  People that can hold entire conversations with themselves.  Delusional people...people that have extreme cases of nervousness...(the kind that laugh hysterically all the time regardless of whether or not they have a legitimate reason for it).  Good luck!

Dictionary definitions:

OMFG, I LOVE THAT FIRST DUDE!!! lol, hes amazing, im a vegetarian, democrat and cooking popcorn without a lid is silly... have u ever got one of those popcorn things in a bottle, and it tells u to put it in a bowl with plastic wrap over the top of the bowl for 3 minutes, the stupid person who wrote those instructions forgot that the plastic would melt by then... so i trusted it and went along with it just to get plasticy popcorn that doesnt have any seasoning :(

Not in their right mind?  Insanity is subjective.  I think people torturing animals is insane (or cruel, take your pick) but others think it's fine.  If you want a clear definition, maybe you should consider the legal definition.

hmmm...

insanity is a dismissal of what we can't explain as far as human behavior goes.

you see, it's too easy to say a serial killer is insane. if you look deeper, he may not be "crazy", just deeply troubled. somewhere along the line, that person must have experienced something to make them lose control of rational thought. and since they don't think like the rest of society, we dismiss them as being insane rather than accept that this is actually how some people behave.

or you could say insanity is a condition in which you can feel no guilt. people find that to be insane because if you commit a horrific act and feel no remorse for it, you are inhuman and insane.
