We work in an office, and we have a woman on reception who goes bananas if you call her a receptionist, as she's actually a "site administrator". Fair enough. However she doesn't actually do anything - eg:

1. The air conditioning broke 2 weeks ago, & it was very hot at work, with 2 pregnant people in the building. However she had a fan on her desk, so she was ok. She didn't report it or arrange for it to be fixed despite our pleas.

2. Our delivered milk going sour in the fridge even though it was 4 days before its due date and unopened. The solution surely would be to hassle the dairy? Her solution - mix the lumpy milk with the unsour milk. Again-2 pregnant ladies in the office.

3. Xmas party email goes out, asking us to vote for venue. The voted venue she said was free to employees, with a 3 course meal. She's now said it's £25 each with a finger buffet as prices have increased. Surely there should be a revote as no-one wants to go now.

  1. She sounds incompetent and is acting above her station. I don't blame her, I blame her line manager for a) not noticing her unnacceptable performance and b) for not doing anything about it.

  2. More like pain in the butt !!

I'm not sure what the difference is between a receptionist and site administrator is, but either way, if she is arranging things like christmas parties then it sounds like her other duties would typically include making sure that the air conditioning is working (particularly with this weather!) and having the common sense to make sure there is fresh milk in the fridge.

Sounds to me like she is a lazy devil with a wide posterior!! LOL.

    Sack her! LOLOLOLOLOL.
