  1. Whats up baylaker24,

If you want to win your first fantasy football league, the most important thing you need to understand is that winning takes preparation.  If you're looking to other sources to indicate who should be drafted where, you've already lost the battle. Preparing for your draft is actually fun and it could be the difference between finishing at the bottom or walking away with the Championship.

To draft a successful fantasy football team, you need to perform 3 main tasks:

    1.  Pre-Draft Preparation - Spend the time to research players so that you can create your own fantasy football cheat sheet.

    2.  Draft Day Diligence - Make the right moves on draft day and have a sound strategy

    3.  Post-Draft Verification - Be sure to double-check your roster after draft day and as the regular season approaches.

I wrote article that walks you through the above 3 steps and gives you some basic tips for getting a leg-up on your competition; it is linked in my source list.  It's free and could really help you out if you're a novice.

On my site you can also create your own player rankings using drag and drop, then generate a printable cheat sheet for your fantasy football draft.  If you're lazy you can generate a printable cheat sheet based on my current rankings.

    Good luck.

  2. Unless the other people in your league also have never played, the likelihood of your winning is remote. Your question is just too broad.  Where do you draft in the first round? Maybe someone could help you there.

The people that I know do something like this if you have maybe one of the first half-dozen picks. RB, WR, RB, WR, QB.

    Good luck. Have fun.

Draft kickers late and if you use defensive players or teams, draft them late also, Fill in your starting offense first.
