all dogs are lovely :D you need to get the one that's suits your lifestyle etc..

i own a 11 year old yorkie mix

and a 1 year old jack Russell

they are very playful and full of energy

you could always check out your local shelter and discuss dogs that suit you and check them out you might find your lovable pooch there :D good luck

Don't get a dog based on others opinions. Get a dog that suits YOUR lifestyle, not anyone else's.

I love my yorkie mix and westies, I go to a puppy play a couple times a week with my dog, maybe you could find something like that in your area, you'ld get to see a lot of different dogs and there temperment.  Have fun and good luck

I have the most adorable cockapoo (cockerspaniel-poodle mix) Although he looks almost 100% cockerspaniel. I would suggest one of these, but they're very defensive around strangers. Otherwise they're great dogs. I think people usually buy them in pairs.

it depends on the size you want. if you want a med size dog, i have a brittney spaniel and they are great dogs. they are very smart, love kids and people, mind well (after about 1yr old-puppy stage), beautiful dogs and they are hunting dogs if you want one for that purpose, our is not, she is just a family pet.. very dependable, great friend, great guard dog  if you want a small small dog, i have a tea cup chihuahua and we love her to death, she was easy to train, very affectionate, very smart and very much a person dog.  if you want a large dog, i like the labs, they are pretty, smart, family oriented, loves kids.  i also had a shitzu and she was a great dog, she was small, loving, lap dog, smart, loved kids and i miss her very much.

I think a Shih Tzu cuz if you have an active or laid back lifestyle i doesnt matter cuz they will adjust and they are sooooooo cute they really are affectionate and can be a guard or a friendly dog

Yes, go to your local animal shelter and adopt a dog, please. Hundreds of dogs and cats are euthanized every day. If there is a particular breed you just have to have, find out about all the rescue organizations. Most pure bred dogs have rescues where you can adopt a pure bred dog. Please don't buy one, that is only contributing to the problem.

I like mutts!  You can get all your favorite traits in one dog!  I like my dogs intelligent, and athletic.  A little wary with strangers, affectionate with family.  So poodle(standard)  X's and collie X's come out at the top.

depends on your life-style. I really like the sheltie. they are sweet, affectionate, loyal and are easy to train. they are one of the smartest dog breeds there is.  they make a good watchdogs and are very pretty. They are just like miniature collies! It would be good to adopt a dog from a shelter, you would be saving thier life. But i understand if you dont want to, some people like to get a puppy they want to train themselves and you dont know the dogs history if you get one from a pound. i looked in the newspaper's classifieds section to look for breeders.
