  1. Look into some of your african cichlids. There are several types that will fit your citeria. But only thing they will not mix well with the tiger barbs.

  2. well i have some baby piranhas and they are cool and agressive and cute

  3. bluefin notho killifish, see a pic of one here

  4. Betta Fish...Just know they can have other fish in the tank as long as the other fish stays mainly toward the bottom of the tank, and away from the heater.

Ghost Knief...HATES being with it's own kind, but extremely beautiful.

  5. all types of Cichlids... but for that size i would choose the african cichlids..

  6. exodons.

they need schools, but will completly destroy fish 20 times they're size.

  7. mbuna  african cichlids , they cone in several different colors, i have blue johnni, red zebras, yellow labs, powder blues etc. but they have to be all mbunas in the same tank. there from lake malawi

  8. My favorite are the cynotilapia afra species. In other words dwarf mbuna from lake malawi :) They should not be kept in a tank less than 55 gallons, and should be in groups of at least 1M:3-4F. They normally only grow to about 4".

I also like the Lamprologus ocellatus, which only grow to about 2", they are aggressive little things for their size, but gorgeous. They come from lake tanganyika. These guys can be kept in smaller tanks of about 20 gallons, and should be kept in a pair, or 1 male and 2 females.

  9. dwarf puffer fish.. uhm.. its way less than 1 inch.. so is that counted? lmao!
