Chicago has many wonderful art museums and galleries, but my favorite has to be the National Museum of Mexican Art in the Pilsen neighborhood of the city.  In addition to mounting fabulous Day of the Dead exhibits every fall and hosting annual Navidad markets, the museum exhibits works from a multitude of famous and lesser-known hispanic artists, both past and present.  Many exhibits highlight different latino cultures and social issues; some focus on the local community.  I visit several times a year and always see something fascinating and learn something new.  Perhaps the best part is the short walk afterwards to the shops and restaurants on 18th street.  Ã‚¡Sabroso!

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, NY.

Nothing I have encountered can even surpass the sheer amount of paintings, sculptures, and exhibits. It has everything ranging from Greco-Roman Classical Art, Renaissance sculptures, instruments, clothing, Impressionism, and Modern Art.
