Mine is the one about Pat Burrell when he was in college and he was having a great game, when the pitcher tried buzzing him and he caught the pitch that was intended to hit him, bare handed, and slammed it on the ground and stared down the pitcher. LOL.

  1. Not necessarily a baseball story, but it is about a baseball player.

The story of George Brett on a golf course.  Brett is playing golf, on the green getting ready to putt.  The group playing behind him hit a ball that was heading right for Brett,so naturally they yelled "FORE".  Brett turned around, was able to spot the golf ball coming at him in mid air and hit it with his putter.

  2. Haha! Good story! I mean everyone has heard this story i love to tell Lou Gehrig's story!

  3. josh hamilton except almost everyone who nows baseball already knows it

  4. when manny ramirez hit his first home run as a dodger. still get goosebumps!!!

  5. Well, here is one of my favorites. This year, Grady Sizemore was up to bat in the first inning. They were the traveling team so of course, they had to bat first. And, Grady Sizemore was the first person in the lineup. A lot of ones right? Well, anyway, the pitcher throws the first pitch and grady sizemore hits it out of the field! A fantastic homerun! Also, later in the game, Grady hit another perfect homerun! The indians ended up winning that game and it is probably one of my favorite games this season!

  6. Meeting Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra in Tampa when I was a kid.  Spring Training game at Al  Lopez Field against the Pirates.  My father was best friends with Johnny Vander Meer.  Johnny was very popular with the players way back when.  He took us to the ball park and we were allowed on the playing field prior to the game.  Our seats were front roll, first base line at the end of the Yankee dugout.  Great seats!

Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra spent a good half hour with the three of us.  I will always remember how kind they were to me.  Later in life when I became a reporter I met Mickey two more times.  He remembered our first meeting and was still very kind to me.  I will never forget it.
