What is your favorite breast pump?

I was using an Ameda Purely Yours and thought it was okay until I got my Medela Pump in Style. Wow, you would not believe the difference! I can pump 2oz more per breast, per session in half the time. It is also more comfortable and quieter. My 2 faves would have to be the pump in style and my Medela Harmony. (I know it's a hand pump, but I love it)

What is your fave?

  1. Medela Pump in Style, next to the wonderful hospital pump I used for 10 days!!!!

  2. I had the same  ameda pump. and changed to the pump in style and found I could pump a lot more also. My lac. consultant recommend that pump and I never really liked it. It was very loud. The only good thin about it was it was so small.I don't use a hand pump but I would have to say the best pump would be the Medela!!

  3. Hospital grade pump was the only thing that worked for me-  I rented one for the first two months.

  4. i haven't started my pumping adventure  yet but i am planning on getting the medela freestyle which has a hands free kit that you can use which i think will be an awesome advantage for those times at work when i may not be able to pump as easily if i had to use a handheld.

  5. Avent Isis Manual Pump.

I have used the Gerber Manual pump, the First Years Double Electric Pump and Avent Isis Manual Pump.

The Gerber pump was good and I liked it, but after my husband sterilized the spring handle too many times, it broke. To avoid this, we bought the Avent Isis Manual Pump and I LOVED it. It pumped an ounce more in shorter time. Unfortunately, my idiot husband washed the valve down the sink on me after we bought the double electric. When I decided to attempt relactation, I went with a double electric pump. I found the First Years pump to be very painful, bruising my b*****s and not very effective. Combined with domperidone, I ended up  actually pumping 2 ounces MORE from each breast with the Avent Manual pump than I did from the electric pump, and it was much more comfortable. That is when my idiot husband washed the valve down the sink.

This time, rather than fiddle around with breast pumps, I ordered a (brand new sealed) Avent Isis Manual Pump with two bottles from Ebay and I ordered extra valves, just in case. Sadly, they don't sell the Avent pumps here in Canada anymore, so I was very happy to have gotten this pump.

Avent Isis Manual Pump, hands down.

  6. I love the Medela.  I did a lot of research before I bought one.  The less expensive pumps did not last as long and or pump well.  It is the only pump I have ever used.  It also came highly recomended by the breast feeding coach at the hospital.  The price tag was steap but I managed to wait until I got a 20% off coupon at the baby store and that helped save a little bit.  It still works well as I am getting ready to use it with my second child.

  7. The Medela Pump was my favorite.  I don't remember if it was the Style or not...its the one that pumps both at once.  Best $300 i ever spent.

  8. I like the Avent isis, it's a hand pump but it worked better for me because I could control the pressure! The medela I used for a little bit too but I felt like it was trying to suck the whole breast through that thing!
