What is your favorite children's picture book?

You can name one from your own childhood, or a current child's favorite. I'm looking into buying a few good books for a special little girl I know. She's really smart and creative, so I'm afraid she'll be bored with the usual "baby bear finds a new friend" and "princess can do anything" types.
