  1. American Gothic

  2. Too many to choice..

A Sea Spell by Dante Rossetti

    Two Cherubs by Sanzio

The Birth of Venus by Botticelli

  3. I don't really appreciate classical art but these are my favorite "classics".

    The Kiss by Gustav Klimt

    Blue Nude by Picasso

Chaos by my daughter, done in oil on canvas when she was nine.

  4. The creation of Man. Michael Angelo.

  5. Blue Boy and Pinky...I always like

  6. First ... ya gotta define classic for me.  Second ... maybe I should have studied art a little more .. or at least a little.

There was a time where Michelangelo & Rembrandt did it for me ... Monet ... even MC Escher but none of it seemed to appeal more than anything tribal.  Be it NA, African, So. American.  Roots art I guess is what one might call it.  All I know is what my eye gravitates toward.

  7. "The Persistence of Memory" by Salvador Dali.

Finally had the opportunity to see this work in the Houston Museum.  Couldn't move for over an hour then went back three more times that day.

  8. Rembrandt's Night Watch, it has always been my favourite.  It just took my breath away when I physically saw it.  The sheer enormity of it along with the detail is just remarkable.

  9. Hmmmmm, I'd say the way that man and woman are made. We are works of art. ♥

  10. OMG, I have so many! Right at the top is the original David, located at "L'accademia", in Florence. For those who don't know, there are 2 other replicas (always in Florence), one at Piazza della Signoria and the other one at Piazzale Michelangelo but, nothing comes close to the REAL one. Another great favorite is by Michelangelo too: La Pieta', it's a statue of the Virgin Mary with Jesus on her lap...the original one is in the Vatican. There are some incredible Caravaggio's paintings that I absolutely adore...well, I don't want to bore you but, I have a long, long list!♥

  11. The Sleeping Venus by the Italian Renaissance master Giorgione

Grande Odalisque  by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres

The Source by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres

The Death of Actaeon by Tiziano Vecellio

  12. It's not classic .. but Tim Cox is one of my favorites ..
