  1. Chestnuts have always been high on my list (Secretariat), with a roan coming in a close second.

KMN>>> You and I have LOTS in common! I love a Trakhener too! Not many Americans (outside of show people) are even familiar with the breed! I saw my first one at the NCSU Vet School, and he just took my breath away. Being as I am over 6'1" I always thought a Trakhener would be the perfect horse for me. ( PS. I left a message for you at the site where you posted your pictures of John Henry, it was a fantastic article about him... hope you got read it!)

  2. I love my appaloosa...she is roan but i tell everyone she is a golden roan because she just glows when she is clean..i also like bay QH with no white and black points

  3. i love white arabs and paint horses

  4. Well I like to look at paints and leopard appaloosas...  i just think the white with pieces of color looks cool.

But my favorite horses are thoroughbred and trekehners and they don't come in paint or appy colors...  so my favorite horses are bays and dapple grey thoroughbred and trekenhers.  Bays, especially in the summer when their body is a lighter redder shinier color, they're beautiful...  I like a little white on the face, but I don't like it to take over the face...  i like stars...  maybe a thin strip... and a little snip is always cute.  For leg markings...  not too much.  It looks so wierd on thoroughbreds and trekeners when they have socks... it's just not normal but a little white down by the coronet band or even coming up to the ankle is ok.  I like all greys, but they're always dirty... the dapple greys kinda hide the dirt... and i really like the spots on dapple greys... they're just neat looking.

Go4Gin...  I did get your message and I did read the article... it was very nice.  I'm sorry, I meant to respond to your message, but I guess I just got too busy with law school and forgot... that happens a lot.  As for the trekehners...  they're wonderful aren't they?!  I drew a grey trekehner named Tigger at a horse show and I fell in love with her.  And then I discovered this Trekehner at my barn named DynaStar [Dyna for short] and she's my new favorite lesson horse.  She's huge and I'm quite small [unfortunately I never grew beyond 5'2], but we get along very well [when she's not using her head to shove me around :o) ]...  i like them big ;o)

  5. I love black horses with socks and a blaze or a star. They just look so good! I find that horses with dark coats have shinnier coats!
