I really like the 1940's pin-up girl stuff. I also like the some parts of the 1970s and 60s. The 80s, needs to stop coming back. I mean certain things are okay like colorful skinny jeans. But I think that most of the stuff in the 80s needs to go away..Escpially all of that bad overprocessed 80s hair.. yuck....

  3. 70s! What's not to like about afros and bellbottoms?

  4. Omg you read my mind!  seriously lol

I super hate the style of the 80's, why do many ppl like it!? so overrated.

    Pin-up, 70's & 60's yep love it>>>

  5. I am not a big fan on fashion.

  6. I loved the late seventies and eighties. Remember the "layered" look? There was a period of time when people were wearing skinny jeans and pants with heels and shirts with vests over them. I remember Norma Kamali shoulder pads. That was a fad for a while.

I hate to sound negative, but being that I'm older, I can clearly see that things are really suffering in this country. Creativity and art has taken a real nosedive -- from fashion to film. Besides shopping from local stores, I used to receive a lot of catalogs in the mail that I ordered from and the clothes were beautiful and fit me well.

Victoria's Secret used to have really nice clothing. At one time, they had nice dresses, leggings, blouses and skirts. Now, Victoria's Secret has been reduced to teen-looking clothes (esp. skimpy, skin-baring tops) and bras and panties. The lingerie isn't as nice as it used to be when beautiful models Jill Goodacre (Harry Connick Jr's wife) and Stephanie Seymour graced its pages.

I also remember Spiegel having A LOT of classic clothing. I bought shoes, boots, beautiful skirts and dresses from Spiegel. At that time, I HAD to buy something from Spiegel because I always found many items that I wanted. Well, what happened to that store? The styles and quality of the fashions are simply nowhere near the same. I haven't bought anything from Spiegel in years now. In fact, I no longer receive the catalog, if it still exists.

Honeybee was another catalog I used to get way back then. It went out of business. Honeybee had the most beautiful dresses -- dresses that actually accented the shape of your waistline. Nowadays a lot of dresses are shaped like a sack. I wonder if it's because so many people are obese now.

These days, I can still find beautiful dresses at stores like Dillards, but I have to spend a lot of money and the clothes are usually made by a big-time designer, whereas back then you could find fashionable, affordable clothing and styles at cheaper stores like JC Penneys and May Company (later known as Robinsons-May, then taken over by Macy's in California).

If there is any kind of fashion era today, I have no idea what it is. I don't see anything that is constant or trendy. It seems like we are "all over the place" now and wearing anything and everything.

  7. The roaring 20's!

    peace
