I would say The Stand and the Green Mile.

I also like The Shining, Christine, Carrie, Salem's Lot for older ones and Desperation, 1408, Dreamcatcher, Storm of the Century for newer ones.

I'm a huge Stephen King fan, so I like almost anything based on his works.

I forget the name, but it has to do with a small town and this creepy guy comes in and kills an old lady, so they take him to prison and then some weird **** starts happening, and the message "Give me what I want and I'll go away" keeps appearing.  So they have to figure out wtf is going on then he's some sort of sorcerer or some ****.  Good movie.
