What is your favorite kind of older car?

Question

My parents said that they would buy me a car now if I agreed to fix it up and put it back together again before I turn 16 or 18. Well, I want an older car and I really like the 1950's model chevy trucks and some Mustangs and Comets, what is your favorite older car? Particularly a car that a 16-17 year old wouldn't be embarrassed to drive to high school in. Any comments?

My favorite old car would have to be a 1957 Chevrolet,2 door hardtop.My brother in law rebuilds old cars and he has one.During the summer we go cruising.This car always seems to turn heads where ever we go.People want to take pictures of it.He also has just rebuilt a 1949 Chevrolet,but the 1957 one  is the nicest.I noticed you like Mustangs and  Comets.A 1955 or 1956 Ford Fairlane is a nice car also.Oh by the way,the color of the car makes a big difference.The 1957 Chevrolet is a candy apple red,and arctic white.Hope you find what you are looking for and put a nice paint job on it.You won't be embarrassed at all.

well if you can fine one I would get a 68 69 shevelle a 67 68 camaro or a late 60's Challenger or charger. But for cheap cars you can still find a clean mid to late 80's Olds Cutlass Supreme with a 305 and sport wheels interior or an 80 Monte SS or 80's camaro or trans am

I think a 1963 Ford Fairlane, or a 1964 Falcon Sprint Convertible.

Both of which are predecessors to the 64 1/2 Mustang.

The 62 or 63 Comet would be good too.

Maybe a  68 Corvair Monza.

Any Tempest of the same time frame  also would be a good ride.

I would suggest staying away from any full size model, including the pick-up trucks. The hoods look like 40 acres of unploughed land to a novice.

1970 mustang - My car, I also have a corvette (My dad went through a mid-life crisis and I got it when he died) but I prefer the older one
