I have lived in Alabama most of my life and I still come back to the same two places time and again for some peace and enjoyment. I am looking for new places to go. My favorite places right now are Mt Cheaha and Noccalula Falls.. Any place where I can go and enjoy nature would be great.

  1. Try Lake Guntersville, Little River Canyon, or Sequoia Caverns. Although I do like both Noccalula Falls and Mt Cheeha (I live right by Noccalula).

  2. The State line on the way out.

  3. I like Noccalula Falls too!  I love Birmingham and there are some good nature places just outside the city.  Ruffner Mountain, just 5 miles from the city center, is a good place to walk/hike.  Vulcan Park has the observatory and great views of the city.  Oak Mountain State Park has a beach and nature trails.  My favorite place, though, has to be the Aldridge Botanical Gardens.  Very peaceful place to stroll around and it's free admission.  Check out aldridgegardens.com for more info about it.  The gardens were close to my hotel so I went there several times while I was in Birmingham and I loved it.
