  1. my yamaha fz6. i know it sounds dumb, but for the price i got it for, the 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, plus 60mpg, and the fact that i'm not hunched over the gas tank the whole time, it is my favorite bike. However, if i have 15 grand to dump into  a bike, it would be the yamaha fjr1300. now that's a nice bike

  2. I suppose it would be a coin toss for me, between a Vincent Black Prince, which I converted t a White Lightning, a 1964 Triumph TT Special, which I put lights on,a a 800cc Routt cylinder, 9/6 cam set, 32mm Dellorto carbs, and low pipes, with reverse cone megaphone pipes. Street legal, it ran 12sec. quarters in 1965-6.  Or "Black Mirah", 1990 Kaw ZX11, 1109cc, 12.5:1 CR, Megacyce cams, 4>1 exhaust, porting work, oil mods in lower end, and dual ram air.   Figure she makes about 175HP, at full tilt.  Stock gearing, red lines in 6th gear.  Not a lot of fun in town, but an excellent Sunday afternoon ride on the back roads.

I still have Mirah, the other two are long gone, but not forgotten.  Also have a twin engined Kawasaki Bonneville bike,to get back together some day.  A 200 mph ride,  Suspect my son will get to ride it next.

  6. I've owned somewhere around 40 bikes. I have 8 right now in my garage. I'm bike poor because I love to ride everything and do every kind of riding. I should say I ride as many different kinds of bikes as I can get my hands on. I love to ride.

The bike I keep going back to is the Harley Sportster. I started out riding dirt bikes and I think that's why I like the Sportster so much. It was originally built to race in the dirt to compete with the lighter European bikes. And in over 50 years the Sportster has stayed basically the same.

When I go riding on my Sportster I always end up on a dirt road some where where I can slide it around turns or ride it out in an open field like an antique hare scrambler.

There are faster more high tech and lighter bikes for what I use my Sportster for but non any cooler than my Sportster. In my opinion the Harley Sportster is the original scrambler and I love scramblers.

    Right now I also own a 99 Buell S3T, 99 Fat Boy, 2003 Suzuki V-Strom 1000, 87 Sportster, 71 Sportster XLCH, 81 Honda GL500 Silver wing, 81 650 Yamaha Special twin and a Yamaha 650 Seca.

I'm looking to sell some of these bikes and get back into Dual Sport.

  7. HD

  8. Early 60's RC series road racing Hondas.

The sound of these 6 cylinder 250cc engines revving up to 18,000 rpm's sends chills up my spine.

Last URL is a picture of a partially disassembled RC166 250cc engine.
