Hi I am traveling to mexico this summer and was wondering about which of these cities would you reccomend. On the vacation will be a new couple (not married), a 15 year old girl, and a 12 year old girl. The 2 sisters are not allowed to have too much unsupervised time, so the activities will have to be "age appropriate." They are interested in doing a lot of things on the beaches such as swimming, tanning, snorkeling, sightseeing, ect. We would also like to not have the area be rough or unsafe, more paradicial.

The options we have are....

Cancun MX

Acapulco MX

Cabo San Lucas MX

Mazatlan MX

Manzanillo MX

Puerto Vallerta MX

Please also add details of why you picked the city as the one you would reccomend.

What do you do in your favorite city you picked?

And please dont put anything like get drunk and get laid.

:)

THANKS.

  1. Cabo San Lucas has many family type activities. They just built a beautiful mall at the marina. Puerto Vallerta also has many things for famlies to do. Acapulco is beautiful and food is cheap. Mazatlan is not as commercialized. Cancun has many fun activities if you live closer to the east coast.

  2. My favorite is Cancun.

  3. cancun has "air condition" sand.  that means that no matter how hot it gets, the sand is COLD to the touch.  the water is nice, and it has nice nightlife of all kinds.  pyramids are near by and are very worthy of your visit....cancun is definately worth considering dispite the huge throngs of tourists because you can go to playa carmen, the "costa maya" or "isla mujeres"  they all have different atmosphere.....check them out individually.

Puerto Vallarta has a big touristy side, and a regular side.  i actually prefered the regular side (where all the locals lived and shopped)....but i imagine you want the touristy side.  so Puerto Vallarta is NOT the best IMHO.

Manzanillo is said to  be really nice.  an up and coming place.  a co-worker went to one of those "all inclusives" and said manzanillo was GREAT.  there is not a huge tourist place there yet....i'd say Manzanillo is great but i have not been there

Cabo is fabulous.  you can go to "cabo san lucas" where all the fun is....and the beautiful rock near land's end are there, or you can go to "san jose del cabo" quiet less touristy....and rent a car to "todos santos"  while i did not do this, i hear it is a  "must see"...CABO GETS MY VOTE unless you are much nearer to cancun

i have not been to acapulco, but it is the granddaddy of all beaches...and since you are ONLY chosing beaches in mexico for your vacation.....this one should get your consideration....especially if you want to take a trip to see "taxco" the really beautiful mountain and silver town.  you can spend the night there (reccomended) or take a touristy bus there for the day (overnight is better)

don't know much about mazatlan, but my cousin went there every year for much of her youth and young adult life with her m other.  she loved it, but she is a "nightlife" person.  i am sure that they all have their nightlife tho.....don't know much about mazatlan.

    my pick.....cabo san lucas.

  4. The best beaches are in Cancun, mainly because they are cleaner.

Puerto Vallarta is said to be beautiful...

    Try visiting

  5. Acapulco is the most crowded and the most "Mexican" of the choices. Having been to every one on the list I would have to say that you would be able to enjoy each and every one of those choices, they are all great places.

For everything on your list I think I would go with Cancun: Beautiful beaches, great hotels, great sand, fantastic snokeling close by, and just wonderful sightseeing around too. It would have to be, along with Cabo, one of the very safest places in all Mexico to visit (although almost all tourist beaches are pretty safe).
