  1. Coronation of Napolean by David. I like it because of the detail. It almost looks like a photograph!

  2. I have a lot of favorites! My favorite painter is Thomas Kinkade. I think his paintings are the most detailed, beautiful paintings, I've ever seen!http://www.kinkadecentral.com/

  3. I am going to be very awkward here.  In my life I can see no point in having a favourite of anything.  What is wonderful about life is its variety.  Having a choice and being able to see things by themselves or as part of a group is what gives me the most pleasure.  I have opinions about things and those may depend on my mood.  What I enjoy today may not give me so much pleasure tomorrow.  A famous gardener was asked which was his favourite flower and he replied that it was always the one he was looking at, at any given time.

  4. Jan Vermeer van Delft's self portrait in his studio is peerless as a painting. No other painter who ever lived could accomplish such a tour-de-force. Salvador Dali said that one drop of Vermeer's divine paint is worth much more than all of the painting that came after it. That is especially true of the works of Jackson Pollock or Piet Mondriaan.

  5. the runaway, norman rockwell

i remember being a little boy wearing a yellow shirt and getting pie and milk at a coffee shop across the street from where i lived when i was in first grade, and it was a place very much like in the picture. i was not the runaway type, but the whole set up with the guy behind the counter and the kid talking to the cop...of course in the little town i was in there weren't many cops, but there was a few county sheriffs that frequented the place, and state patrolmen with the smokey bear hats, they were always fun to talk to.

i got to do that about once or twice a month, mom would give me some money and let me go over there by myself for pie and milk; what a treat.

  6. Weeping Woman, Pablo Picasso

dunno, i liked it since 9th grade.

  7. My favorites are the ones I have made!   LOL.

I also love starry night by Van gogh,  My painting are sort if realistic - impressionist.

  8. I have several favorite pieces of art, but 'painting' is only very little of any of them.  Some are torn paper pieces ... they 'frame' a painting (basically just stripes or long drops with the true 'art' being the paper frames inside the wooden/metal frames).  Others are pencil or prismacolor drawings.  The artist's name is Neal LeMoine.  No, you can't buy them (yet) ... but I own tons of them since I happen to be married to the artist.
