What is your favorite photo editor?

i want one where you can put text on photos and stars and stuff, do you know any?

I use adobe lightroom to manage my photos and to do most of my editing.

I use photoshop cs3 to do anything lightroom can't.

In case you don't want to spend $600+ for CS3, Photoshop Elements can do quite a bit for under $100.

For editing (sorting) I use my computers file manager.

For photo workflow, I use Photoshop CS3

Photoshop CS3 is said to be great for photo manipulation, but that is something I rarely use ... maybe once a year ...

I mainly use Photoshop, Lightroom & ACDSEE pro.  I don't need to do much of anything else!

Forget Photoshop. It costs 700$ and is way too complex for a beginner.

A good alternative is probably Photoshop Elements. It's 100$ and you can do all the "stars and stuff on pictures" operations with it. The advantage of Elements is that it comes with a very large library of templates to be used with your pictures.

Adobe has a fully functional 30 day evaluation version available for download on their website. Try that first before you buy it!

If you are looking for free software I would recommend The Gimp. It's free, much more powerful than Photoshop Elements but it's not coming with that many star-templates to put on your pictures.....

My personal suggestion: Adobe earns enough money: support open source :-)
