what is our favorite quote. and no cliché, common internet quotes that come along with a fancy picture of a depressed person. if you know what i mean. if you dont have a favorite quote, get one! currently mine is as follows::

"You forget it all anyway. First, you forget everything you learned-the dates of the Hay-Herran Treaty and the pythagorean theorem. You especially forget everything you didn't really learn, but just memorized the night before. You forget the names of all but one or two of your teachers, and eventually you'll forget those, too. You forget your junior year class schedule and where you used to sit and our best friend's home phone number and the lyrics to that song you must have played a million times. For me, it was something by Simon & Garfunkel. Who knows what it will be for you? And eventually, but slowly, oh so slowly, you forget your humiliations-even the ones that seemed indelible just fade away. You forget who was cool and who was not, who was pretty, smart, athletic, and not. Who went to a good college, who threw the best parties. Who could get you pot. You forget all of them. Even the ones you said you loved, and even the ones you actually did. They're they last ones to go. And then once you've forgotten enough, you love someone else."
-Gabrielle Zevin (Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac)

it illustrates what happens to our childhood memories as we grow older. it makes it worth it to live fully and without regret; because you will forget it all anyway.

  1. There might be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! Or, another quote is I do not see the light at the end of the tunnel but I know it is there, I will see it soon! Or, the ballgame is not over yet! Or, a new one I just heard is Do not ask and do not tell! Or, another new one is, Are you connected? Do you want to connect? This translated means, Are you hooked up to the Internet and do you want to chat and E-Mail on the Internet? Then you say, Yes, I am connected! Do you want to get connected? And you exchange E-Mail addresses! Good Luck!

  2. My favorite quote, possibly from Dave Barry:

"It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own self-interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages."

    - Adam Smith, "The Wealth of Nations"

Human behavior is economic behavior. The particulars may vary, but competition for limited resources remains a constant. Need as well as greed have followed us to the stars, and the rewards of wealth still await those wise enough to recognize this deep thrumming of our common pulse.

  7. As long as I am in my current soppy romantic mood, then:

"I know I am looking too much into this, but I can't help it: I am detective, I am researcher extraordinaire, I am overanalyzer, I am girl with broken heart. That's a very loose term, though, because you didn't break my heart: I broke my heart, you just did some things to a third party that, in the end, sent the crack through my veins, like the chip in the windshield that only explodes once the car goes over a speed bump. As long as we're applying this to cars, let me just say this: my want for you was like speeding in the dead of night through the wooded highways of New England, all rush of cold air and hair flipping about your face and it was all about the heat, baby, the heat coursing through you, mumbling rapidly things like you are almost there, go a little faster."

  8. My friends mom used to say, "S**t in one hand, wish in the other.  See which one fills up first".
