  1. roadrunner- slipknot, trivium ( i think), 36 crazy fists (used to be signed with them), CRADLE OF FILTH (they rock!!!!!), machine head

Sony BMG- Bullet for my valentine

    Nuclear blast- night wish

    Fueled by ramen- paramore

  2. My two favourite are probably Roadrunner records for bands like Opeth, Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree, which are incidentally my three favourite modern bands. The other label I like is Nuclear Blast for bands like Meshuggah, Threshold and In Flames.

  3. I honestly don't know much about record labels, but I do like Elektra.

    Some Elektra artists:

    The Doors

    The Stooges

    Atomic Rooster

    MC5

    Pixies

    Queen

Wire & String - Almost everyone hates big coporations, but would you change your opinion on the labels you listed is business started booming, or if your favourite bands got signed to it? Loving music is better than hating corporations.

  4. Well I don't know much about record labels other than a couple that my all-time fave band was signed to and those were:

Apple records The Beatles it was their main record label

EMI records which later became Capital records. This was The Beatles record label in 1968 and their solo years.

    Hope I helped!

  5. I have hundreds of albums but I rarely even look at the labels.

The only ones I even know are Capitol and Apple for The Beatles and Swan Song for Led Zeppelin.

  6. Arista- The Dead, Annie Lennox, Carlos Santana, Yes, Sarah McLachlan

Def Jam- Beasties, Public Enemy, Patti Labelle, LL Cool J, The Roots, Kanye West

  7. sundazed records for now

  8. Roadrunner or Geffen.

  9. Hopeless Records.

Mayday Parade, All Time Low, and The Maine are all signed to it.

  10. roadrunner records or warner brothers

  11. Probably Roadrunner.

Artists that I like that are on that label include Airbourne, Black Stone Cherry, Megadeth, Machine Head, Opeth and Trivium.

  12. Swan Song Records :-)

launched by English rock group Led Zeppelin on May 10, 1974. It was managed by Led Zeppelin's manager Peter Grant and was a vehicle for the band to promote its own products as well as sign artists who found it difficult to win contracts with other major labels. The decision to launch the label came after Led Zeppelin's five year contract with Atlantic Records expired at the end of 1973. Atlantic Records ultimately distributed the label's product.  Swan Song Records also signed Bad Company. :-)

  13. I really like Solid State.

    My favorite bands:

    Mychildren Mybride

    The Chariot

    Twelve Gauge Valentine

    Norma Jean

    Haste the Day

    August Burns Red

Pretty much every band signed to that label...

  14. Roadrunner Records

  15. 3 Car Garage

because it is Hanson's independant label

  16. daptone records

    sharon jones

    antibalas

    the budos band

sorry to a couple people, but i have to thumb down anyone who says a major label, or one owned by a major label, and even though roadrunner has some cool bands, they are owned by warner brothers. elektra is owned by warner. arista is owned by sony bmg. capitol is owned by emi. def jam is owned by universal. geffen is owned by universal. its cool if you want to thumb me down back, but i am a man of my principles. know that this is not about the music, but my hatred of things like the RIAA, oligopolies in media, clear channel, payola and price fixing.

  17. Tooth & Nail

& some of my favorite artists are:

    The Almost

    A Dream Too Late

    The Becoming

    Thousand Foot Krutch

    Anberlin

    Capital Lights

    Family Force 5

    MXPX

    Dead Poetic

    FM Static

    Hawk Nelson

    Jonezetta

    Run Kid Run

  18. Metal Blade Records- Unearth

    Warner Brothers- Dark New Day

    Century Media- The Haunted

Wire and Strings Don't worry I returned the TD back I respect your opinion but TD people is not cool dude.

I understand where your coming from though and I respect that.

  19. Century Media

I pretty much like all of the bands signed to the label...

    Paradise Lost

    Himsa

    Jag Panzer

    Tiamat

    Hellhammer

    Iced Earth

  20. Hopeless Records

    Fueled by Ramen

  21. Century Media and Nulclear Blast

TOO many to name, i just checked online, and toooooo many. But they are great.

  22. Fueled by Ramen

    almost all of them

  23. Matador: Pavement, Stephen Malkmus, Yo La Tengo, Belle and Sebastian, A.C. Newman, Guided By Voices

Sub-Pop has been catching up though:

The Shins, Sebadoh, Band of Horses, Beachwood Sparks, Nirvana, Arlo, David Cross

I dig a lot of acts on Kill Rock Stars as well.

For the sake of philosophy, I really enjoy that Dischord was founded on the fact that the record companies were overcharging people so they made a lable where they would charge a fair price for their material.

  24. Roadrunner. Warner Bros. is decent as well.
