My favorite is Arties (another one of the Great American Restaurants).  I prefer it to most of their other restaurants because it's quieter and easier to have a good conversation over an excellent meal.  Service is always great too.  :)

Im telling you GO TO Captain Pell's Crab House in Fairfax!! my boyfriends uncle owns it and it is all family run! the BEST seafood ive had and awesome and fun atmosphere! and if you like crabs you'll regret not going because they have a non stop supply of large ones year round!

We love the Sakura Japanese Steak House, we usually share a combo dish of filet mignon and shrimp.  And it's always fun to watch the chefs cook your meal before you!

I'll have to say the Serbian Crown.  It's in FallsChurch (so it's close) and it has fantastic filet mignon, Russian foods, and also exotic fair (such as lion, during the winter).

^captain pell's is pretty amazing.

If you're into Korean cuisine, Cho's Garden has really delicious dishes.  Cee Thai Fine Dining next to FFX high school also has good Thai food.

Anyplace from the boys who brought us Fritzbee's Flying Food Factory...Coastal Flats, Mike's, they are all fabulous.
