There is more to the world than America. The question should either be... "what is your favourite place in the world?" - in which case I would say Florence. Or "which is your favourite American state?" - in which I would agree New York

Well I suppose as long as I am in a state of well being, it doesn't matter where I am. If you are talking about a state in the world, not all countries have States, the have provinces or areas.

My favourite U.S. State is Georgia.
