Spanish: enchiladas, tamales, or chili rellenos

American: Good ole' bacon cheeseburger with lots of cheese and crispy onion rings

A combination platter with a smothered burrito, taco, tostada,and beef enchilada.  Smothered with super hot green chili.  At American I'd have to go with a french dip if available or a BLT.

Spanish as in from Spain?  Ropa Veja!  Spanish as in Cuban?  Mojo Pollio!  Spanish as in mexican?  Flatas!  And you asked American?  It depends on what type of american you are looking at.  Philly for cheese steaks.  In the south you eat comfort food like fried chicken.  In the Keys you eat grilled fresh fish.  In the mid west its steak.  Texas and south borderlands its a mexican kinda feel to the food.  West coast the cuisine is so varied I cannot even begin to go there.  And in America you have so many varied type restaurants.  So its hard to pinpoint 'one' food that is considered American.  Even apple pie is not truly american!  Blueberry pie?  Thats American!
