  1. For me its either Ugly Sticks or American Rodsmiths

and all i fish with are baitcasters from miros-all the way up in all water bodys.Ambassadorss are my fav's not too expensivee and virtually indestructible.

  2. shimano curado fresh and salt.rod bps extreme or ugly stik

  3. It's a tough call between my Daiwa Viento reel and Light & Tough TL-661-5RB rod, for fresh water bass fishing VS. my Kistler Magnesium "Chatterbait" rod & Daiwa TD Zillion "burner" reel, but the Zillion is SOLID and the Kistler provides great bottom feel for jigs.

Okay, Kistler and the Daiwa "burner" Zillion it is.

I don't do any salt water or fly fishing, yet...

  4. My new personal favorite fly rod, has to be my new Orvis Helios, still do like my sage rods and reels too! reels well ive had too many reels, often the simpler cheaper ones are the best, ive got abel, lamson etc etc but the truth is i really like the simple battenkill original by orvis, sure the more expensive reels have a better drag but they are heavy and when you fish them you're scared in-case you damage them, lol so for now they sit in the reel cabinet.

  5. I am breaking in a 6'9" All Star Platinum and Abu Revo Inshore. This setup has been awesome so far for me wade fishing in the upper Texas coast.

  6. I use bass pro shops pitching sticks for all daiwa and okuma level winds and quantum and daiwa baitcasters. I use shimano spinning rods and reels and I use pflueger fly reels and st croix fly rods. Although I do have an ugly (saltwater flyfishing) stick

  7. People can say whatever they want about Ugly Stiks. For the budget I have and the fishing I do it's the perfect rod for me.Not all of us own fishing boats and have exorbitant budgets for rods and reels.I fish from shore for bass in local ponds in my area.I've never had a problem with my Ugly Stik.Until I do I'm not convinced why they get such a bad rap, especially for people like me.

  8. I only do salt water. I have the following:

Ugly Stik: two 9' spinning rods, a 50lb class boat rod and a 10-weight fly rod

I also have a Shimano 7-piece light spinning travel rod and a Shakespeare 5-piece travel boat rod

And I have a couple of no-name rods with nice action.

For reels, I have an ABU 10000BG and a Penn 113H for the big stuff, and a bunch of cheap spinning reels for everything else (they only cost €12 so I'm happy if they last a year). Oh, I have a nice saltwater fly reel - don't know the make.

  9. For bass fishing like to use a Quantum or Shimano, medium heavy action is my preferred action since i go a lot of fro fishing. You can also put heavier line on the reel, witch is a must for bass fishing!

As for rods, i like to use a 7' rod with a lot of back bone, so i can pull fish out of heavy cover, and weeds, I like my Bill Dance series rod made by Quantum, he meets all my rod prefaces and makes a good long lasting rod!

For salt water i like to use u.s. reels if I'm fishing for slot limit snook, red fish and sea trout. If I'm pier or inlet fishing i use a medium action tiger spinning combo made a Shakespeare, they last long and can hold big line, 20 to 28 pound test, the rods they come with are also good. And the price is unbeatable for the quality, only 20.00 bucks!!

    :)
