Tears of dawn, leave them be

By Jellz Fisher 080903

Droplets cling,

to webs at dawn.

Leaves are laden,

at this time of morn.

Nourishing life,

both awake and yet born

Refreshing the life that we see

Pearls of moisture

hang, nature’s art.

Gentle like tears,

straight from God’s heart

Moisturizing beauty,

Creation’s part

Refreshing the life that we see

(with thanks to Doofy from P&S for the "phrase that pays" in the title yoinked from one of his questions)

I may revisit this at a later stage and add more stanzas.

  1. This is really lovely Jellz, The rhythm is great when I read it out loud!

I love the dawn as well.  I hope you will add more stanzas.

  2. Really like the imagery. You could prune some to improve the flow more. E.G. "Refreshing life we see."

  3. The morning dew - does such magic stuff. It hangs like crystals on everything. Spiderwebs are pure artistry - and grass stems are the same. Crystals hung on necklaces - and line the garden lane. Yeah - I like the morning - too bad I usually do not get up in time ♥

  4. lovely Jellz.

favourite poetic part of the day?

    great question!

    ..many parts are edible.

  5. This is wonderful. Visual, engaging the senses and the emotions.

As I write, in the minutes before dawn, I am again grateful for the miraculus creation of the Universe and for people like you who express the miracle in words.
