OK if you live in engand tell me about your school im just really bored.

I am english and live in england.

Normal English schools are not like st trinians and wild child. In fact they are similar to mean girls etc.

We have to wear a school uniform with rules like no high heels no jewelery no make up But apart from that (my school anyway) has cliques like popular people, neeky people, bullies, goths, emos, grungers, sporty (jock), and normal people. I think it all depends of where you live though I live in South london (Not as rich as some parts of london but not as poor as other parts basicly in the middle).

Like half my year at school Smokes (i dont and dont want to).

my school School lasts from 8:30am to 3:00. Most people have bebo and stuff. its quite normal nothing special.

lessons are 1 hour luch is 50 mins break is 20 minutes.

we have registration in the morning.

year 7 is ages 11-12 year 8 is ages 12-13 year 9 is ages 13-14 year 10 is ages 14-15 year 11 is ages 15-16 then you leave school at 16. If you get high enough qualifications you can choose to stay at school another 2 years.

School lasts from September to the end of July. You get 6 weeks summer holiday, 2 weeks christmas holiday, 2 or 1 week cant remember easter holiday.

If you want to know anything else just ask now I want to know about YOUR school.

  2. I live in Canada. My high school isn't like other ones in Canada. Usual schools in Canada are sort of like yours. My school is from 8:30am to 12:30pm on Mondays and Fridays, so basically we have 4 hours of school. Tuesday to Thursday we have school from 8:30 am to 2:30pm, that is 6 hours. We also wear uniforms. We have cliques too. We speak engish and learn french and go to the church.

  3. I live in Canada.

My high school starts early September and ends late June. So we have about 2 months of summer vacation and also 2 weeks off at Christmastime and 1 week off in March.

Our school hours are from 8:15 AM to 2:25 PM. There are four periods (classes) per day and they are 75 minutes long with 5 minutes in between. Lunch is 40 minutes.

Provinces here have different curriculums but here in Ontario we need 30 credits to graduate, which means we have to pass 30 classes to graduate. (1 class=1 credit) Some of them are electives so we get to choose them though. We have to take French classes up until at least grade 9.

Typically here there is Elementary school that starts with kindergarten (ages 4&5) and goes up to grade 6 (age 11). Then there is middle school which is grade 7 (12 y/o) and grade 8 (13 y/o). Then you move onto high school: grade 9 (14 y/o), grade 10 (15 y/o), grade 11 (16 y/o), and grade 12 (17/18 y/o). But some schools, like my own, hold grades 7-12.

Lots of people in my school do drugs and drink although its illegal on school property. Every once in a while the police come in with dogs and search the school, which makes the situation a bit better because lots of people get caught. My school is Catholic so we're not as bad as other schools like (no offense) but the public school in our neighbourhood.

We have the normal high school scene as well, complete with popular kids, nerds, jocks, emos, goths, druggies and the normal crowd. We don't have uniforms or anything so I guess your "social standings" kind of depend on your clothes.

Anyways after high school when kids are about 18 years old they have the option to start their careers or move on to college or university. Statistics say that university graduates make the most money but it all depends on what your career requires.

So I hope this all helps you in learning about high schools over here! Peace.

  4. I live in Minnesota, USA.

Currently I'm a Junior in High School (11th grade).  Schools for my area are broken up like this:  Ages 3-5 go to pre-school (more than anything it's just a daycare).  Ages 5-11 go to Elementary School.  Ages 11-14 go to Middle School, also known as Junior High School.  Ages 14-18 go to High School, which is where I am right now.  Legally you can drop out of school when you're 16, but NOBODY does that because it's almost impossible to get anywhere in life without at least a high school diploma.  Beyond that, majority of people go to a college or university for about 4 years.

I go to a public school, so we don't wear uniforms but we do have dress codes like nothing too revealing, offensive, ect.

Cliques are in every school, no matter where you live.  It's just life.  I have the same thing at my school.  Some people smoke at my school but overall it's not too bad, it's really frowned upon so not a lot of people do it.  Plus you're not allowed to smoke anywhere on school grounds.

My school lasts from 7:50 to 2:20.  Lessons are about 80 minutes, and lunch is about 40 minutes.  We have 8 minutes in between classes for a break, but it's usually spent going to and from classes.  School lasts from beginning of September to the first week of June.  We get about 2 1/2 months summer, with about 10 days Winter break, and 10 days Spring break.

  5. schools in american are pretty much the same as where you live. there are a bunch of cliques of course. and i can relate my school to mean girls too haha. the ages and grades are the same. and class times in my school are 45 min each. christman we have 2 weeks off. and alot of people smoke too

  6. interesting

i go to a magnet school. it's like a private school but it's free. we wear uniforms too

it's sort of like mean girls as well. most of the girls are rude and don't like pretty girls who get a lot of attention

we have nerds, art freaks, jocks, popular kids, second popular kids and the loners

i'm assuming like 30% of my school is sexually active and a little over half of them smoke- mostly the boys

the school i go to is grades 6-12

grade 6 is ages 11-12, grade 7 is ages 12-12, grade 8 is ages 13-14, grade 9 (freshman) is age 14-14, grade 10 (sophomore) is ages 15-16, grade 11(junior) is ages 16-17 and year 12 (senior) is ages 17-18. some people graduate when they're 16 though

in 8th grade we have this thing called semi formal. it's a dance and you get all dressed up for it. then there's prom which is really important. it's just like a semi formal but bigger. that's in grades 11 and 12

my school starts at 8:10 then ends at 2:30 but we have to stay for mandatory activities until 5 but not on fridays

our summer vacation was from the beginning of June august. i started on monday

we have labor day, which is on monday, off, winter vacation which is like a week, thanksgiving vacation which is like 2 or 3 days, spring break which is a week and that's it

we have 4 classes a day and they are 75 minutes long and lunch is 40 minutes

im a sophomore (grade 10) and im 15

  7. My high school is a Lutheran private school, which means it doesn't conform to the rules of the public school district and can teach religion and have chapel and charge $6,500 per year. We don't have to wear uniforms, but we can't wear blue jeans, tee shirts, or sandals. We have school from the end of August to the beginning of June.

There aren't very many cliques because there are only 150 people in the whole school, just groups of friends. Most of the school is either in choir or band or both, and one-third of the school participates in Drama. There are only 15 teachers and they all have multiple responsibilities. There is no principle, only an Executive Director.

14-15 = 9th grade freshmen, 16-17 = 10th grade sophomores, 17-18 = 11th grade juniors, and 18-19 = 12th grade seniors. We get 11 days for Christmas vacation, 8 days for Easter vacation, and roughly 3 months for summer vacation, though we often get school called off for snow days because we are in Wisconsin.

  8. We have a really big campus! It would be very easy to get lost i it. We have 3 floors. We have 7 classes during a day. We have our electives (Art, Gym, FACS, Music, Choir, computers, Spanish, italian. french, and Latin) We have other electives to, those are just a few. We also have our core classes. Those are English, Math, Science, and History. Our classes are 60 minutes each. Except our FL (foreign language) They are 1 hr.30 minutes. So ya. Like I said earlier you could get lost- we make maps that are printed on to our planners and we have one of those things they have at malls with maps in it (2 on each floor) They help. We also do something called Quest. My high school is called Hazelwood West High. Our Quest is called "Quest @ West"! The incoming freshmen and the incoming Seniors and ALL of the teachers and staff and faculty come in- they show you around and show you where everything is! It's kinda cool. The seniors come in to lead tours of the school for the new kids. That is 1 thing I really like about the school. So yea. Our school and district really tries to accommodate everyone! Hope I helped

    P.S. I live in the U.S.

  9. I go to high school in southern California. San Diego to be more exact. I go to Helix Charter High and we start school at 7:50 and goes till 2:55. But on wednesday we start at 9:40 and go till 2:55. We have thirty minute lunch and a ten minute break. Were a charter so we start school in August and get out in late June. We get several two week breaks throughout the year. It's an odd school we have bagpipes and i play in the bagpipe band. Were the Helix Highlanders. My school is mostly jocks, band geeks, sci-fi geeks, punks, skaters, goth-emos, and asians who have sort of there own group. There has been some history of drugs at school but not a lot of people smoke. My school is 9th grade to 12th. I think that's about it send me more info about your school i'm fascinated by england. My e-mail is blue_eyes_white_tiger8@yahoo.com

  10. I live in Canada.

At our school, it starts at 8:30 and ends at 3:00.

My school goes from Grade 9 to Grade 12.

Each class is 1 hour and 15 minutes.

    We have 2 lunches, 1 from 11:10 - 12:30 and the other 12:30 - 1:44.

There are a lot of people in my school that smoke and do drugs.

We get 2 months of vacation in the Summer, and we have breaks at Christmas and other important holidays.

We don't have to wear uniforms.

If your late, you get detentions and yeah.

We have typical cheerleaders, blondes and big b*****s and think they're all that.

In my opinion, I would rate the school that I go to a 5/10.

  11. I live in Michigan, United States.

My school is probably not the worst, but its down there. My school is very diverse. There are people from the Middle East, India, England, China, everywhere. Just walking down the hallway you could hear about 4-5 different languages. Like all high schools, there are cliques. Asians hang out with Asians, Polish kids hang out with Polish, whites hang out with whites, blacks hang out with blacks, and so on and so forth. There is no uniforms, but we do have a strict dress code.

    -Hosts grades 9-12

-On Mondays we start at about 8:00am, and leave at 2:17.

-On Tues-Fri, we start at 7:15am, and leave at 2:17.

-On Mondays, classes are 45 minutes long, excusing 4th hour which is an hour long.

-Tues-Fri, classes are one hour long

    -There are 6 classes.

-We get 5 minutes in between classes.

-There are 3 different lunches, A, B, and C, all are 30 minutes long.

-Some kids chose to go to a Career Prep Center, so then you would leave for half the day to go there(3 hours).

-For little holidays, we usually get a few days off. (Thanksgiving, labor day, etc)

-Christmas we get 3 weeks off, I think.

-We get an Easter break AND a spring break. Each are one week off, and they are usually just a few weeks apart.

-We get summer vacation from the middle of June to the beginning of September.

    I think thats about it.

  12. At my school we go 7:30 to 2:00. Classes are 45 mins lunch is 30.  (9 periods) My school has lots of cliques and I'm pretty sure more than half the school is on drugs. Highshool goes from 9th grade to 12th grade. (Ages 14-17/18) Summer vacation is usually around 7 weeks long, 2 weeks at Christmas, and 1 week at Easter. Most schools don't have uniforms. (Unless you go to a private school)

    Hope I helped.  :)

  13. wow that's interesting.

high school in los angeles, california is crazy. lots of mean girls, lots of gangs, lots of fights, lots of drug use (yeah in school), lots of s***s, it's chaos. we have grades 9-12 in high school, 7-8 middle school, pre k - 6 is elementary. school is september through june, about a one week spring break, an eight week summer vacation, and a few days off. you can usually wear whatever you want to high school. hope i helped :)

  14. my school is like one big family. it goes from 5-12 grade so almost everyone knows each other, or of the person. There are cliques, preppies, skater/emo/punk, geeks (which are mostly boys).

the biggest difference in my school from others is probably the cheerleaders. most schools cheerleaders have dyed blonde hair, big b***s, and are popular at the school. our cheerleaders are all different. fat skinny, blonde hair red hair, preppy punk.

Also my high school is #8 in the country :) united states that is.

  15. my school is an arts magnet high school (meaning the equivelant of year 9 or 10-ish to when you are about 17/18 years old, and also that people from all over the state can come to the school..not just the city i live in)

our school has about 470 kids this year. We do not wear a uniform, but have to follow a dress code, which includes wearing no spaghetti strap tops, tank tops, mini skirts/shorts, anything that could be dangerous.

We dont really have cliques at my school, although there are geeky people, some emo kids, and many "art school kids" (a little unusual)

People are all different in their income at our school, and it does not make or break your "group"

many people smoke as well (i do not) and many people also drink alcohol (the age here is 21...so its illegal)

our school day is from 7:30 to 2:15. Each class is (i believe) 42 minutes and we have about 30 minutes for lunch. we do not have a big break, only 3 minutes in between classes.

we go to school from early September to the middle of June, and get about 10 weeks for summer.

our Christmas break is 10 days, and we get no break for Easter. In February we have a 10 day break though, and in April we have a 10 day break as well.

Our school also observes most Jewish holidays where we get the day off, as well as Thanksgiving, Veterans day, and others,
