  1. 1. get up (I try to do this around 8 but it doesn't always work)

    2. do basic morning stuff, maybe take a walk or something, sometimes i stay in my pjs for the first few subjects

    3.  i usually do my work in the same order each day

    4. i have 9 subjects plus i have extracurricular activities pretty much every day of the week so the time i get done really depends on the day.

As you can see, I'm not very scheduled.  It gets done and that's what counts :D

  2. With three kids I go constantly from one to the next.  For the kids my younger ones have 3 hours maximum, and my High School student needs 4-5 hours most days.

  3. I go school wed.-fri. from 9.00-3.45.I'm in an Access to Nursing course, and I study 15 hours a week...except  from wed. to friday!

  4. Roughly 8:30-11:30 is our morning school time. We break to have lunch, then our afternoons are never consistent. Some afternoons I spend reading aloud to them, or we'll be at a homeschool park day, or we'll be on a field trip, or we'll be on a playdate or at a party (or hosting a playdate or party), or we'll be at homeschool lessons, or we'll just be out and about running errands. Or we'll be at home and they'll be playing or exploring their own interests, which may or may not be somehow related to school work. As I said, nothing consistent. :) My kids are only 7 and 10.

  5. When my daughter starts high school  Jan29th she will have to have her breakfast first, then shower , then put on her cothes last , ensure she has everything packed in her schoolbag. A friend of hers will be dropped off here occasionally because a mutual friend will  take them to school. She will be at school, come home and change out of her uniform. Have a snack.A rest. And then will do her homework. She will be in bed by nine o clock or later if homework takes longer.

  6. Normally like this:

    2 subjects

    break

    2subjects

    break

    2 subjects

    break

    and so on.

  7. My 9th grade son's schedule:

Yearly: start August 13th - will end probably mid May.

    ACT Test April

Summer always includes at least one educational camp.

    Weekly:

Mon: Jr. Toastmasters every other Monday

    Tue: Coop classes from 8:30 - 2:00

Wed: History, Spanish, Student Newspaper / Journalism + Youth group

    Thu: Coop classes from 8:30 - 2:00

Fri: History, Spanish, Student Newspaper / Journalism

    Reading in the evenings.

Throughout the week as time allows and sometimes weekends: apprenticeship work, web development, exercise, computer game development, computer animation, music

    ***UPDATE:

Hannah M..  If you see this would you mind telling us Americans what "Smoko" is?  You don't mean smoking do you?

  8. It depends on the day and the subject being focused on. Mostly we work in the morning, break in the afternoon, and do classes or lessons in the evening.

  9. As a 15 year old unschooler, I have neither a 'home school schedule' nor a 'typical day'.

Umm, a day round here goes something like: Get up, do chores, shower, have brekkie...make the rest of the day up as we go along (interspersed with smoko, dinner, smoko, tea and chores)...go to bed.

  10. Normally my son does math for the whole week homework

on monday, then biology tuesday, health wednesday,

pre algebra thursday, english on friday.. If he gets done early then he has free time.

  11. Wow...that's an ever-changing answer at our house!

In the mornings, my 10yo generally does his independent work after showering, eating, and chores.  He gets short breaks when he needs them, but is pretty good about getting on his work and getting it done.  There are subjects that he likes being independent in, so he looks over his assignments and gets those done first.

He gets done with that around lunchtime, so we make something for lunch, discuss whatever is happening that day, and (if the weather's nice) take the dog for a walk.

After that, we do our "together" subjects.  This is usually Bible, science, history, and writing, as well as whatever he's working on for Scouts.  This could include building things, read alouds, experiments, research, notebooking, lapbooking, and/or a field trip somewhere.  It also can include internet research, as I don't allow him to openly research online without my supervision yet.  (He is only 10, after all.)

We get done around the time his dad gets home from work, so then it's Daddy time...this could be 30-45 minutes of PS2 time if the weather's nasty, or a run to the park to play catch if it's nice.  This is when I get the rest of my household stuff done and make dinner.

Right now, he's got baseball practice 1-2 times a week, play practice twice a week, and Scouts at least once a week.  These are all afternoon and evening.  He also has church activities starting up again in a couple of weeks, so that'll be one more night as well.   He really never has a problem staying busy, lol!

  12. I am not sure there is a typical day, there is order in the madness :)

We have a very relaxed approach, and after breakfast we all do our chores first.

By ten o'clock we will be starting the formal part, this is our one on one time with each child for about an hour or so.

They will do their work independently after that, and ask for my assistance when needed.

After lunch, well that depends on what's on the schedule, swimming, 4H, Awana, Civil Air Patrol, book clubs, Lego club, youth group, volunteer work, friends to visit, or the gym.

We run errands on the way home, and later that afternoon we do social studies, or science together.

In between we cook, bake goodies, or watch a DVD, life is good, busy but good...

When there is a day or so that just does not lend itself to formal studies, we curl up on the couch, and read a lot; on our own, and out loud together.

Dinner brings lots of discussions, and table talk; we clean up together, read aloud, play board games, or do projects that are due for 4H and such.
