  1. Hi, We live in melbourne. We are in the process of building a house and will be moving in with the inlaws in 3 weeks! Not something I can say I'm looking forward too! We too find it hard to rent as we have animals and most people dont allow that and the people that do don't have very nice house's.

We dont have children yet and have put off tryin as i dont think my hormones would go well with hubby's parents lol! I know generally in melbourne if a house is worth say $300000 then you pay $300 in rent. But it depends which side of the city you live as well.

Not sure if that helps you much. Good luck with it all though!

  2. Um well, I live in Gympie QLD, On a dairy farm with my parents and brother who is 12 im 14. I live on 750 acres. It is Nice but Ilike the city more and I'm a city kinda guy!!!. Well you should try (for renting) Parrammatta i say this mainly cause it is a pretty suburbs for the west of sydney it has good transport links and is largely a high renting suburb I think you'll find that its quite good. But incase you are racist it has less than a third of the population as white the majority being vietnamese korean chinesse Indian sri lankan and african....ps hope i helped

  3. I live in the wollongong outer suburbs, owning a 2 storey house. I live with wife and 1 child and a dog, paying no mortgage as we own house 100%. Around this area your looking at rental prices beginning at $200 for the crapiest 1 story 2 bedroom house (un-renovated). For something more new, probably about $300 a week for a 3-4 bedroom 1 storey house, about $370 for a 2 storey house. Suburbs 5 mins from wollongong CBD can add around $50 extra.

Your best bet is to go into a few various real estate agents and ask them of the more affordable and nice suburbs, close to where you want live. Asking a few will ensure you get better and more un-biased information. Agents will not charge for this, and will help you find houses in that area which may suit your needs.

    Hope that helps :-)

  4. Housing prices are absolutely shocking in Australia now. I am paying $250 a week for a three bed room place just out of Adelaide.

    I live with my partner.

    No children.

Your $300 a week in that location is the average pricing.
