Great food, great sports cars, lovely country, great architecture, terrible policemen, c**p normal cars.....

Everything is so slow there and if you don't know Italian it is a big problem. But they are nice people and very friendly.

This question has been asked so many times, but because I love Italy so much, I'm answering once more!  Italian people, in general, are fine, although I've always been bemused by the fact that those from the North tend to despise those from the South!  I love North and South - the amazing scenery and wonderful food, historic sites, & opera sung in Italian, in Italy, is a real experience!  It's the most romantic country in the world - even the language sounds musical and romantic! There is one big negative: Italian drivers!!

Well unfortunately I have never been, but I'm going to imagine I'm there now.  I am sitting at an outdoor cafe drinking espresso with an amaretto cookie, the warm sun baths everything in a soft golden light, all around me beautiful olive skinned people talk and laugh openly...

Am I close?  I will go there one but I am afraid I'll be disappointed.
