I am looking to spend at least two weeks in Buenos Aires in January or February, and was looking for advice regarding cool attractions to see, places to stay, taxi svcs, etc. I would also like to go to Patagonia and regions outside of BA to see some beautiful terrain. Thanks.

  1. First: have in mind that those are the hottest months of the year (and summer here is very humid).

Attractions you have many, but all depends on your age and tastes. You can give me more details and i will help you.

To Patagonia you can go by bus (cheaper but long distance) or plane (very expensive). Puerto Madryn is really good, Calafate also.

Iguazu falls are great, and Mendoza province has many things to see.

  2. If you like soccer/futbol, definitely go to la Bombonera.  Check out la Boca (where la bombonera is) regardless, its a pretty cool neighborhood.  I highly recommend eating at Estilo Campo in Porto Madera.  Lots of people like Siga la Vaca because it is a tenedor libre (all you can eat) but the quality is poor.  Estilo Campo is less expensive for the pre-fix dinner and its the best meal I have ever had.  Well worth the $9!

There is a train that goes out to the delta of El Rio de la Plata to Tigre which was pretty nice, but if you are on limited time, spend it in the city or Patagonia.  Bariloche is supposed to be really nice, but I have only been to that area on the Chilean side.
