What is your impression of men who watch soap operas?

I personally don't watch any soap operas, but used to watch Santa Barbara on Bop Tv a few years back, I do however have a friend, male, who rushes home from work everyday to catch the second half of Days of our Lives.

Should I be worried about him?

Wow, if he rushes home to watch the soapies he hasn't been out fishing long enough!

I would be surprised but it's the guy's choice.

Yes Bull, I think you should be worried ....... men do not watch soap operas just like they do not knit.......just joking, I also know guys that watch soapies, but there is nothing wrong (sexually) with them.

Worry about what?  That he is rushing? That he might be g*y?   Would if affect your friendship with him?

Personally, I think that he should get a recorder and not rush home. (Traffic)

You should analyze the question.  If you do, you will have your answer.

There are many men, who watch soaps.

Lots of guys in college watch soaps.  It doesn't mean anything really.  Not unless you want it to.

I think he is clever,you pick up alot of tips on those soapies,I must say my fiance is addicted to OPrah

You should be extremely worried about him as he is either a poofter, or is not the brightest candle in the chandelier!

I HATED soaps when they first came out in SA and have hated them ever since!

Men talk about sports and guns and hunting. Women talk about shopping, soaps and romance novels. Even when groups get together, often the conversation splits along gender lines. Eventually the guys move to the barbecue pit while the women go shopping.But in case of a man watching soap operas and there occurs a fight, they will more likely than other men start to ponder on those soap operas that they watch and apply it to real life scenarios to sort things out.In this case theire taste is questionable but not their manhood.

But there is another perspective, which is the unusual upbringing where the men have been liable to follow the female trends or lifetsyle due to spending most of their life with women around. You never know they may be turning fully women inside even if they dont express it, but this is very visible in their way of life especially their thoughts over decisions, how aggressive they are, stern or cold,etc..........

Don't worry about him, it is just a TV show after all and if it makes his day , well... there's nothing wrong with that .. and as long as he is still functioning in society he [and you] will be fine.

Ag no, do not worry for your friend. It's OK if he likes soaps. Me, no thank you. You do not have to watch for weeks and in one episode, you know what you have missed.
