I have more than one favorite place in the world, but here is my 1# in USA and 1# in the world (that I have seen so far)

Xinjiang (shin-jyong) province in NW China. The ethnic minority Uyghur people there are warm and friendly and have a fantastic culture. The Taklamakan desert is amazing too, nothing but sand for hundreds of miles.

The Redwood National forest in N California-absolutely gorgeous and awe inspiring, every American should see it!

I have many; ranging from a room, to parks, to country. But today, I'm going to go with Savannakhet, Laos. A small province and a pretty dirty area. Very warm. The streets are pure h**l - just watch out when you book it across the street when crossing. Not so luxurious sounding, huh? lol!

But it feels like a second home to me. Everyone lives within managable walking distance, food carts are located on almost every corner - handmade/family recipe which is all very delicious. Each home basically has their own business; all really comforting to me.

Insects are everywhere, the showers and toilets could use helluva work too. Haha! But I still love it and hope to go back to the family and visit again soon.
