  1. I was grumbling and complaining to myself while on my way to jury duty when I stepped into a parking deck elevator with an elderly woman. With a beaming smile on her face, she asked me (in broken English) for directions to the courthouse while showing me her jury duty notice. She explained to me that she was from China, had recently become a U.S. citizen, and was EXTREMELY happy to be taking part in our justice system.

Needless to say, I felt about 3 inches tall and learned a lesson about what it meant to be an American from someone who wasn't even born here.

  2. Waking up after 2 and a half weeks on life support realizing that I was still alive, and just how close I came to dieing.

  3. I recently broke my leg. I'm six four and thirty five. I spent three months in a wheel chair, two months with a walker/cane. It was humbling to need that much help and taught me a lot of patience. Using the electric cart at Wal Mart is a tough pill to swallow but I had no choice. Very humbling and a great lesson in patience for me.

  4. becoming a mom

that caused me to change alot and to be a better person for the sake of my daughter

  5. Daily, its hard to answer which is most humbling because I become humbled everyday knowing that I just fell short once again. But I press forward and ask God to stop me and help me to deal with the new situations daily before I approach them with my unskillful ways and ask him to deliver me first.

  6. a nun kicked me in the nuts

  7. Being present in the delivery room when each of my children were born. I could not believe that I had part in the creation of such beauty.
