What is your opinion about polymer science?

Well, I've heard people saying it's boring and dumb but as far as I'm concerned it's the best! You finally get to create things (synthesizing a polymer is really fun--I love precipitating them), there are millions of applications for everything so imagination is always welcome, you use lots of techniques to 'characterize' your compounds (this means that you "cook" something and then you use some of the most expensive and advanced machines to check what you have, how big it is, what it can do in various conditions. Now, there's a lot of theory you might have to understand but it's a science quite young so anything you do matters! I'm not really fond of the polymer physics but I love polymer chemistry.. It's a whole different thing so you get to involve with what suits you best..
