What is your opinion about the Embraers?

Question

I've seen that this brand of airplane have a good performance and the maintenance cost is less than the Airbus, but at this moment i'd like to know your opinion about the Embraers especially the 190 and 195 version.

i'd also like to know an experience from a pilot who have handled one.

uhm... Embraer is the best aircraft company because I've mounted in the EMB 190 and the sits They are in leather and i like much i recommend,   I mounted in the EMB 190 of Aerorepublica Colombia from Bogota-Medellin and my opinion is good about this aircraft i like much the aircraft beacuse is little and comfortable. i've not mounted in the airbus but i think that Avianca it will cover national routes in airbus 320 from Bogota-medellin-cali-cartagena- very soon.

EMBRAER 190 is the best!

Airbus and Embrares are not in the same catagory as far as aircraft desinged roles are concerned. Airbus aircraft are large wide body aircraft, and EMB are smaller regional jets.

They serve different flight roles. The EMB is a direct competitor to the Canadair RJ's and both are very good aircraft. They both have lower maintence cost, descent fuel consumption, and the key factor is they are both profitable for airlines on shorter feeder routes, where the distance is far enough where a turboprop would not fulfill the role as well.

Well personally I think that they are a decent brand of aircraft. Although they are configured with weak looking propellers, they are actually quite safe and many have the same navigational equipment as larger aircraft. The only real problem with EMBs are the loud sound during fliight and the low altitude and fuel capabilites. Otherwise they are quite sturdy aircraft and will get you where you are trying to go.
