What is your opinion about this, "YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT."?

i'm having a quick little survey for my nutrition class. hope you guys answer.

  1. My opinion is that when you think of that statement, think of american's in this time period.

    Most of us eat fast food, processed to the core, all fake, and we have never been fatter.

    Our bodies don't know what to do with all the processed junk that is going into our systems, that it all is just being stored as fat.

    Then take a gander at people back before the 50s (before the whole Fast Food revolution happend) Obesity was not a problem for america. The biggest problem they had, was how to serve their all natural foods, in what style.

    so you really are what you eat...

    eat c**p= you'll feel like c**p and look like c**p.

    eat healthy food= you will look and feel healthy.

    it's all relative. :)


  2. It's an old cliche used waaay before the current vegetarian "movement". I think (and I am not claiming that I am accurate here) that it was referring to unhealthy diets which did not inlcude veggies and milk as stated in the "food pyramid".

    Personally, I don't set my life according to cliches

  3. Very much true.

    If you eat more junk food than not, your body suffers, your health deteriorates, and you basically turn into a blob-which could be considered junk.

    If you eat a healthy, balanced diet, your body gets stronger, works more efficiently, and is a picture of health.  It is a reflection of how you feel about life, and how much you respect your body.  People who care about themselves put good things into their bodies, and generally lead longer, healthier, happier lives.

    It all depends on how you look at it.

  4. yes, where, how (much/often), why, when, and what you eat is definately a display of the type of person you are-economically, emotionally, and socially.

    you are what you eat.

  5. I totally believe it.

    You eat garbage, it will affect your body in negative ways.

    Fatigue, headaches, depression, lack of energy, more cravings, you name it.

  7. You are mainly what you drink since our bodies are mostly water.

    We are also what we eat. Amino acids and other hydrocarbons would probably make up nearly all of the rest.

    if you eat an apple, it does not, in any way make you an apple..

    How could someone be what they eat?

    Thats a whole bunch of bull, if you ask me.
