Thanks for the link - as usual, Radford has hit the nail on the head.  Using scientific equipment does not make your measurements scientific.

Brilliant. In plain English.

Many in the "paranormal movement" surround themselves with the trappings of science. Largely because science has been so successful, having the appearance of technology lends credibility, but real science requires real understanding and real work. Buying equipment makes you a scientist about as well as buying a piano makes you a musician.
