I think that John McCain is the first Presidential Candidate to have come from a military family with both his grandfather and his father being graduates of Annapolis and the only father son combination to reach the rank of 4 star admiral

  1. It's been a big advantage for McCain -- he only got into Annapolis because he was a "legacy", then proved he shouldn't have gotten in by graduating 5th from the bottom of his class.

Then he crashed 4 planes before getting shot down, and when he got back from Vietnam, only got a small command because he was a legacy.

Now he milks this for all it's worth, bringing it up every time someone asks him a tough question.

  2. He's an honorable man coming from an honorable family.

  3. It means that the father was absent a lot. So he had no strong father figure to guide him. That's why he has a terrible temper and cannot be trusted.

  4. Being raised in a military family is to be "in" the military from birth. You learn loyalty and to sacrifice self for a greater good. You learn to fight for truth and the good of your country. You learn to do a lot with a little, and be ready to move on a moment's notice.

I think that sounds like a list of qualifications for leadership....

Oh my goodness.....I am a Democrat....this election is driving me crazy.

  5. What can I say, War-mongerism runs in his veins, the O Cathain clan of Ireland, his and my ancestors, were a family of warriors.

  6. I have no opinion about that...it is fact.

  7. Opinion?  Its a fact of his life and its not of his making.  So what?  Of course, it shaped his own early choices...that's true for most people and their families.

  8. I don't think he is the first candidate to come from a military family, but, I think it defiantly gives him an edge.

  9. McCain was a POW

    Obama hasnt done anything

  10. Being from a military family is inconsequential, however his integrity because he was raised with those values. The values of military families is to serve the people, they swear to that when they take an oath to become a military service member, and that is just exactly what McCain is doing today.

Just a side reference to what that idiot Micheal Moore said about God and the Republican Convention. How will he explain his foul accusation to the people of La., Miss., Ala.

do you think it makes him look like a hero to them?

Looks tot me like his remarks could loose Obama a few states votes

  11. I feel family ties and tradition remain a strong influence in our character.

  12. What of it? I don't understand why it would be a bad thing.

  13. Well he definitely came from a military family, that's a fact... and my opinion on that is...it's a very very good thing.

  14. Okay, so he's a  "military brat" who cares, I'm not voting for him.
