What is your opinion of Rokinon lenses for Nikon cameras?

Okay so I know there's no such thing as a free lunch, and when you compare a 500mm nikkor lens, the price is like 100 times more. But overall if a nikkor gets a 10/10 and this gets a 7 then it might be worth the risk.

  1. It is up to you and your willingness to compromise the image quality.  As many have stated before, in nearly all cases buying a good used Nikon lens is a better choice than buying a new third-party lens .. especially a lens that is relatively an unknown brand.


  2. Pay attention to what fhotoace said. Making good optics requires good materials and it is labor intensive. Anything that is much cheaper has had to cut quality materials, quality of workmanship or both. Even the pro end 3rd party lenses are not but a small amount of difference in price. Not the amount you see here
