I recently moved to a new home in the US, full of nice and freindly neighbours. it is a young neighbourhood, full of rather young kids. I often see these kids, aged 8 to 12 playing together. That is natural. However, what appals me is that these kids often play in their underwear or even naked, both boys and girls. Sometimes, they even go to shops, or run errands for their parents naked or in skimpy undergarment. My neightnour's 9 year-old daughter and 11 year-old son are such an example. I feel that they are just kids, but my husband feels it is offensive. What is your opinion?

  1. This is too bizarre to believe. But you're new *and* you managed to put some perversion into your first answer, I'm going to back up the troll comment. But thanks for the two points!!

  2. It is inappropriate for children of that age to be running around naked in public. Infants and toddlers should have on at least a diaper. I keep my infant completely clothed unless she is indoors and we have no company over. Then once in a while I will let her go without pants if I am having to change diapers frequently or something. Where are these kids parents and why do they think it ok for this to be happening?

  3. Unless you live in a nudist colony, there are no towns in U.S. where chldren that age are allowed to be naked in public, most especially not in town.

  4. im just mostly concerned that those kids might get molested or raped... also if kids look at each other and always wonder about alot of things and ask them to take off all of their clothes, other kids might even say, well i saw my parents did this... kids should always have their clothes on in my opinion =/ alot of bad things could happen... if i were you, id talk to the mayor about it or councelors of that school.  this has to be stopped, its also best to get a group going so that everyone has their own opinions.

  5. Young naked kids too each other seem ok. But not in public with elder more civilised people. It grows on and they get attachted as they grow older. So, in my opinion, little kids shouldn't be running around naked in public in a city.

  6. Kids at 10, completely naked outside?  That's hard to believe unless you live in a nudist colony.  If in fact it is true, call the police!

  7. They go shopping naked and run errands naked huh?   No..they don't.   Troll.

  8. The other warm day my 2 yr old, diapered daughter went into a Starbucks with me to use the restroom and leave.  We had a police officer ask why she didn't have a shirt on because there were concerned customers.  Talk about irritating since she was fully clothed when we left the house that day and she stripped while driving.

From being so annoyed at that situation I started thinking about the proper "age/time" for kids to be properly clothed (keeping in mind temperature - of course I wouldn't have my daughter in just a diaper in 30 degree weather).  I think that once they are out of diapers and in underwear there needs to be clothes on or around 3-4 years old.

I heard that a neighbor used to call the police on the previous owner's 2 yr old daughter that would play in the yard in her diaper saying it was indecent exposure.  However crazy that was, I think that you'd have every right to say something about the kids in your neighborhood.

  9. depending on where you live,  I would contact law enforcement.  Its not appropriate, and what if there are child molesters in the area?  I could see if the kids were 2 ot 3 but not at these ages.  I would also contact child services.
