who says that autism in children is fake! and that kids need to be punished and disiplined more? he refers to autistic kids as brats! how do you punish such an idiot? why are so many fools in this nation listening to this moron? is everyone in america ignorant? he is almost as popular as stern! unreal and makes me sick! opinions? this is second time!! i have asked this because of no responses!

i think he is rude ignorant, a complete moron and a bit of a "brat" himself. he should look at the autistic children that he insulted. my little brother is autistic! and if they cant get him fired the public should. i also think he should get jail time for crule and inhuman treatment. from his job and from a cannon.

i know everyone says freedom of speech. but if he called you or anyone in your family a moron because they act funny or anything like that. you would probubly beat his head in. but if it is olny for autistic children you think this is ok? he has to go! next he is going to be saying half of all teenage girls are ho*rs and sl*ts because they wear tight and revealing clothing. we got to stop him befor he make people feel so bad the kill themselfs. he is a inhuman creature that shoud be trown out. he is not good enough to backtalk a bug on a brickwall let alone humans with feelings.

It is comical that so much attention is being paid attention to him. He must be loving it. But he is losing advertisers for his show. That has to hurt. But how much, I don't know if they know just yet. They will soon though.

He is an idiot. Austism is real just like learning disabilities. It's biology and of course there are gray areas that require professional opinions.

I think he is lamenting at poor parenting in general but wants to get as much attention as he can. Children that are autistic are not to blame and neither are their parents.

I don't care about Savage. His remarks are so ridiculous that I cannot take him even remotely seriously. What an idiot he is.

edit: If the person above me is correct then that is what Savage should be talking about. Unqualified people should not be diagnosing children. Period. End of story. I'm sure it was happening with learning disabilities. I know rich parents tried to get their children diagnosed so they would have an easier time getting into Harvard. As someone who is dyslexic, that makes me very angry. I would rather just be normal. I mostly am but sometimes ... I know my brothers wish they didn't have it either. It doesn't make life any easier.

I feel for kids that are autistic. It's very tough.

Obviously the man is trying to get his 15 minutes of fame, but since good things do not attract the attention of the media, he shot his mouth off about Autism, which apparently he knows nothing about, in an effort to get people angry and his show noticed.

The best thing to do to people like this is turn to another radio station. When ratings fall, talk show hosts with no brains end up unemployed. Don't be too worked up, he won't last long.

They do need to be punished and disciplined more.  Years ago, before it was against the law to spank a child, they knew there was consequences for bad behavior.  Now they know they can do what they please and if they are spanked they just call CPS.   It's sad, because we are raising a generation of kids who will not follow rules.   I have witnessed children with no discipline.  They can grow into obnoxious, disrespectful, hard to get along with adults.  It will affect every aspect of their lives.  Kids need discipline whether they, are you think they need it or not.  Doping them up doesn't count.

I listened to this in its entirety, and quite frankly agree.  I agree that many kids "diagnosed" with ADD are just out of control, and PARENTS need to step up.  I am sad for most of the kids who are really just acting up due to their home life, and getting put on a mind numbing drug because doctors are so quick to apply the ADD issue.  I graduated almost 20 years ago, and realize times have changed, but acting out is acting out.  We just didn't have any-excuse, ready to go drugs to rely on back then.

Mr. Savage is loud and obnoxious. I am a conservative and strongly believe in freedom of speech but his show isn't a talk show, its a rant show.

You might also notice he has the fewest calls taken, not because noone is calling in, but because he can't stop ranting to let anyone else speak.

Don't be so ignorant.  Savage had a developmentally disabled brother himself, and he knows the needs of such a child.

The problem is that the diagnosis of autism is being made by unqualified school personnel for the purpose of getting more money for Special Education programs.  I know, you probably thought they were being diagnosed by Psychiatrists, didn't you?  Do you really believe that the rate of autism has increased so dramatically in the past few years?

Anyway, a person with mild autism is not so very different from a "normal" person, and can usually be managed in a mainstream classroom, with some extra support, and is better off for it.

Brats, whether autistic or "normal" need to learn how to behave.  Why would you think otherwise?

The over-diagnosis of autism takes resources away from children who really need them, and causes unnecessary problems for the children wrongly diagnosed.

Yeah, Savage is obnoxious at times.  He's what I'd call a gadfly.
