i lost number of letters in question box. but it is a crime to steal one, it's still on law books as a major crime. but you can have them killed for dog food. and the sick people<my opinion> who race their horses for money. if they loose too many times they have them sent off to slaughter. it is the same with dog racing, except they don't go to slaughter, they just kill them!

  1. I think its horrible, I work at a horse rescue and the horses that come in are all race horses who have lost to many races, they would of been sent off to slaughter but we rescued them, we got a horse who was only 2 years old and he was going to go off to slaughter just because he 'wasent fast enough' and he was a good family horse! We adopted him out to a good family though.

Last week we got a little girl in who was quite old and she was brought to us because she couldent have foals anymore, she had had many babies and since she couldent have anymore she was sent off to slaughter, we saved her also, she was also a race horse and bred to death!

Over all I believe horses shouldent be sent to slaughter because they cant win a stupid race, those horses would make a wonderful family pet.

  2. I don't like it, no. There are plenty of other meat products we can provide for dogs without killing horses for it. And I don't really get people who race animals for fun. They should get off their fat you-know-what and start running themselves. Now THAT'S entertainment.

Fortunately, not all the doggies that race are killed. Some are "retired" and given to people like me. My dog, Tanner, was a racer and now he lives a happy life of retirement where he only runs when he wants to, which is usually when playing with our other dog, Gibson, in the back yard. They're both greyhounds (Gibson was never a racer), so they play high-speed chase. :)

It took Tanner a while to adjust to life around humans. Most of his life before us was in a cage or around other dogs. He was always sweet and gentle, just stand-offish for the first month or so. Now, he's my "shadow-dog" and just loves to be snuggled. :D In fact, he's sleeping less than 5 feet from where I sit now.

  3. I think that it is sickening!!

  4. Its bad, but not as bad as sending them to EUROPE for human food!

    They don't deserve that

  5. Its horrible.... with the racehorses especially, not all horses can run that fast and its horrible if your that unlucky one that can't who is born, raced, killed just because it wasn't bringing in that much cash.

People who own racehorses and do this should be frowned upon.

EDIT- My first paragraph doesn't really make sense but you get what i mean right??
