    barefoot contessa-boring

    guy fieri-hes ok

duff-hes cute and funny i like him and ace of cakes

  2. I like em...those are the classic stars!!!

I cant stand the new people...they are stealing the time slots from the classics

  3. Rachael Ray is VERY overrated and VERY overexposed. Sandra Lee is good in small doses. I love Giada, AB, and Paula Deen - they're my favorites! Ina Garten is growing on me - I used to find her too snooty. Emeril was good at first, but then got to be overexposed. Bobby Flay - I could take him or leave him. Same with Tyler Florence.

I do have to say, I *LOVE* the guy who won Next Food Network Star this year - his show is called Big Daddy's House. I love the show. And I like that Secrets of a Restaurat Chef show - she's Iron Chef Batali's sous chef.

  4. Paula Deen- Annoying

    Giada- sister loves that show

    Rachel Ray- Always Happy

    Bobby Flay- HoTT...great,great chef

    Alton Brown- Funny and Creative

Emeril- Boring and sort of resembles a Pig.....Blah

    Barefoot Contesa_Blah

    Sandra Lee- Blah, Blah, Blah

  5. they are too happy...except duff from ace of cakes hes funny

  6. Some I like and some I'm not so crazy about.  My favorites are Paula Deen, Alton Brown, Ina Garten (the Barefoot Contessa) and Tyler Florence.

Oops, I almost forgot Guy Fieri.  I love watching his shows!

  7. Giada on her show is very knowledgeable and makes great food - but I found her to be quite bitchy with the contestants on the Next Foodnetwork Star (almost like she couldn't handle the spotlight being on someone else).  Found her to be the same way when she and Rachael competed on Iron Chef.

Rachael Ray - ball of energy, almost to the point of being annoying.  I do like her food and have tried many of her dishes/food prep ideas.  She's grown on me.  I used to not even be able to watch her.

Bobby Flay - can be full of himself at times but I do like how his food is "of the people" rather than fancy schmancy.  I would eat most of the food he makes on Iron Chef (which is something I can't say for most of them)

Alton Brown - the most knowledgeable and likeable of all the FN stars.  His main show, Good Eats, has a way of being silly and informative at the same time.  I never miss it.  His other shows are less interesting but I find him to be a very credible host of Iron Chef which is no easy task.  He's the ultimate foodie.

Emeril - unwatchable, he's become a cartoon (Bam!).  This is unfortunate since he has good recipies.  I stick to pulling his ideas off the net rather than watching him on tv.

Paul Deen - love her, it's like listening to my family talk every time she opens her mouth.  She's like Rachael, either you love her or you hate her and I love her.  She cooks the food that I like.  She's another that I never miss.

Sandra Lee - really like the idea of semi homemade but she often veers into foods that I would never touch.  She also loses my interest with her "tablescapes" as I have no time for such things but I imagine there is a cottage industry for it.  I like her shows the best when she's out on the road and bbq'ing in the park or when she has her nephews on.

Barefoot Contessa (Ina) - makes great food but I'm not quite sure how she got a tv show as she comes off pretty cold to the camera.  They try to warm her up a little when she brings on guests but it doesn't fly.  Not to be rude but I get a g*y vibe from her husband - I've never quite figured that out.  Not that I care either way - it's just perplexing.

    Some others -

The Neelys - wow do they try hard to make you believe that THEY ARE IN LOVE!!  I wish they'd dial down the cutesy c**p a notch and focus more on cooking.  The "spicy fairy", etc is just not cute.  Love it when they have their family on or other special guests.

Aaron McGargo Jr - loved him on the Next Food Network Star but he needs to dial down the fake as well and just be himself.  He is gold when his sons are on.  They should be in every episode.  Love his food.

Cat Cora - sorely under utilized.  Was probably the most helpful celebrity chef on the Next Food Network Star.  Should have a daily show.

Deen Brothers - go away!!  While Paulas' shows are excellent, these two are just boring (and the tall one is pretty smug and full of himself).  They need to be delegated to eye candy on their mom's shows and not waste our time with their own.

Guy Fieri - a natural in front of the camera.  Even when I don't like the food he's making I sitll watch because he's so entertaining.  It's easy to see why he has so many shows.  Keep them coming.

Ellie Krieger - underwhelmed, her show blends in with all the others on the network.  She needs to pull a Sandra and take the show on a field trip to spice it up.

Sunny Anderson - seems to be the new IT girl for the network with already having 2 shows.  While I'm sure they like her energy and "spunk" I think it verges on annoying.  So far her food has saved her in my eyes but I can see myself getting annoyed enough to change the channel quickly.

Tyler Florence - talks way way way too fast and his food is awfully fancy for my liking.  Found him to be pretty cold on the Next Food Network star when he interacted with the peeps which did not endear him to me.

Duff from Ace of Cakes - totally unwatchable.  Was probably a cool guy to hang with before he became famous.  If I could speak to him in person I would be like - Dude, you make cakes, get over yourself!!

Marc Summers - loved him ever since Double Dare.  Unwrapped is one of my favorite shows on or off the Food Network.  Loved him on the comp show that he and Guy hosted (can't think of the name) because Marc made fun of his own OCD.  He's very adept at live shows which is difficult.

Nigella Lawson - doesn't speak as clearly as I would like (esp with the accent).  Probably woudln't have as many shows if they filmed her strictly from the neck up.  She occasionally has moments of greatness with food but not as many as I would like.

Michael Symon - very very of the people.  Could watch him all day.  I feel like he would do better on any other show than Iron Chef as his food is so different than the others (and often wouldn't naturally use the whack ingredients they pick on that show)

Ingrid Hoffman - utterly unwatchable.  I get it - you're latina.  Stop talking and start making food I would actually eat!!

  8. I enjoy watching most of them.
